John Visser

Yesteryear. The late John Visser with a Free-tailed Bat near Musina. This was back in 1982 and the only trip I ever did with John.

He was a successful business and keen herpetologist as well as an accomplished photographer. But not always the easiest person to get on with and he had a few life-long feuds with some herpetologists.

John had an aquarium in Jeffries Bay and was exporting sharks and seals to zoos and animal dealers all over the world. He moved to Swakopmund where he spent the last few years of his life. John died of a heart attack while doing business in Asia.
